Privacy Policy

PreMap is built as a local-first route launcher. This Privacy Policy explains what stays on your device, what may be sent to third-party services when you use specific features, and how to contact us.

1. Introduction

Welcome to PreMap ("we," "our," or "us"). PreMap helps you save places, organize repeated routes, and open those routes in third-party map apps. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the app.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

PreMap stores your saved cities, collections, locations, addresses, route defaults, map preferences, travel-mode preferences, customizations, onboarding state, app usage counters, and review-prompt counters locally on your device.

This route data stays on your device unless you choose a feature described below that sends specific information to a third-party service. You can delete local PreMap data from inside the app where available, or by deleting the app from your device.

If you export your data, the export file may contain saved addresses unless you choose an export option that removes them. You control where you save or share exported files, and third-party apps or services you share them with handle them under their own terms and privacy policies.

3. Information That May Leave Your Device

• When you launch a route, the selected start and destination details are sent to the map app or map service you choose, such as Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze.
• When address autocomplete is available, the text you type may be sent to the platform location search service that provides suggestions.
• If purchases are enabled, Apple, Google, and RevenueCat may process purchase, subscription, entitlement, and restore-purchase information. The app may also use a RevenueCat app user ID for support and purchase troubleshooting.
• Firebase Remote Config may process technical identifiers and diagnostic information needed to fetch operational app configuration, such as maintenance-mode, paywall, and review-prompt settings.
• Mixpanel may receive app usage events and limited event properties that help us understand feature usage, product quality, and purchase flow health. We do not intentionally send your saved addresses, place names, city names, collection names, or route contents to Mixpanel.
• If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in that message. Emails started from inside the app may include app version, platform, and RevenueCat app user ID.

4. Information We Do Not Collect or Store

PreMap does not require user accounts or cloud storage for your saved places.

PreMap does not provide public user profiles and does not use your saved route data for advertising. As of the effective date above, PreMap itself does not request device location, calendar, contacts, camera, or photo-library permissions. A "Current Location" route source is handled by your chosen map app when the route is opened.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. How Information Is Used

• Save and restore your local route-launching setup.
• Open selected routes in your chosen third-party map app.
• Provide address suggestions where supported by the platform.
• Import, export, reset, and manage your local data when you choose those actions.
• Operate paid features, restore purchases, and present store information where purchases are enabled.
• Fetch operational app configuration, such as maintenance-mode and paywall settings.
• Analyze aggregate app usage and feature health without intentionally collecting saved route content.
• Respond to support, privacy, or product feedback emails.
• Comply with legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, consumer-protection, and security obligations.

6. Third-Party Services

PreMap may interact with Apple, Google, Waze, Firebase, RevenueCat, Mixpanel, and email providers. These services process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

7. Legal Basis and Privacy Rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another region with similar rights, we generally process personal data based on contract, legitimate interests, consent where required, or legal obligations.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. You can contact us using the email below.

Because most route data is stored only on your device, we may not be able to access, recover, export, or remotely delete that local route data for you. You can manage local route data through the app and your device.

8. Data Retention

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, reset it, replace it through an import, or delete the app. Support emails, purchase records, analytics records, and operational provider records may be retained as needed for support, security, legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.

9. International Transfers

We are based in Germany, but third-party services may process information in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, data processing agreements, adequacy decisions, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures for the parts of the service we control. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and third-party map, purchase, and platform services are outside our direct control.

11. Children's Privacy

PreMap is intended for general audiences. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us without required consent, please contact us.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Your continued use of PreMap after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
